Sessions focus on a wide range of kumite (sparring) drills concentrating on keeping the mind still whilst under the duress of intense and complex kumite practice. This is the essence of fudochi to have a relaxed, flowing mind through the pressures of everyday life, kumite is the ideal format to train for this.

Expect the classes to be tough but highly structured with passionate instruction.

Fudochi Karate is a serious discipline that will enhance your physical conditioning, mental well-being and self-defence abilities. To this end classes are only available to adults and older children (10yrs+).

Shotokan Karate is a martial art and the classes are designed to build up your proficiency in the Fudochi Shotokan karate fighting techniques and their application. Classes will have a strong emphasis on physical conditioning to ensure you can safely and effectively apply the Fudochi Shotokan karate techniques. In addition there is a strong emphasis on mental conditioning to build up your focus and ability to respond calmly under the pressures of intense training.

Fudochi Shotokan Karate is a progressive system that has specific training programmes and techniques designed to take people through from beginner to black belt and beyond. One of the key differences between this style and other styles of karate is the constant progression and challenge embedded into the system. Thus makes it ideal for experienced karateka looking to push themselves beyond their current limits as well as complete beginners to martial arts.
